A brief overview of the center
The Computer Center is one of the important joints in Iraqi universities because of its importance in disseminating information technology. The Computer Center at our university aims to prepare qualified people to deal with information technology efficiently and work to provide appropriate opportunities to develop capabilities that could cope with the development taking place in information technology and meet the needs in the field of computers from both theoretical and practical aspects. It also provides consulting and training services to support the university and society.
Statement of the center director
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
May peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad, and His pure Progeny.
In addition to our responsibility towards our beloved university and our keenness to overcome obstacles and facilitate matters in developing knowledge and skills in using computers and related technology, Computer Center insists on supporting the university, institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the rest of the ministries by developing everything related to software programs which can facilitate the duties and work of the employee and train cadres to work on this software. The center's main objective is to develop its staff and the rest of the university's staff by holding courses in the computing field to deliver the latest programming technologies to keep pace with the accelerating pace of technology in the world. Computer Center also seeks to establish a set of networked systems to facilitate the process of storing and processing data by placing this data on a group of servers based at the Computer Center but can be reached by all university sites through the university’s intranet. The center has four divisions specialized in the field of organizing courses, providing internet services, maintaining computers and networks, building systems, typesetting, designing, and developing the university’s websites.

Center Objectives
The Computer Center at our university aims to prepare individuals qualified to deal with information technology efficiently and capable of coping with the rapid developments in information technology and meeting needs in the field of computers from both scientific and applied aspects. The main objectives of the center are as follows:
- Planning and implementing the information infrastructure of Al-Qasim Green University and following up on its development.
- Building cooperative relationships with advanced international and local companies to bring and house modern information technologies.
- Establishing cooperation mechanisms with universities to provide them with information services and technologies within community services such as e-learning.
- Developing the skills of cadres in university departments and state institutions in informatics and communications, in addition to providing consultations related to informatics and communication technologies.
- Website design and hosting.
- Evaluating the competence and performance of professors and students through indirect automated examination and granting them on-site certificates.
- Working to conclude agreements to conduct exams online through international exam centers to obtain certificates of international experience in the fields of computers and the English language.
- Maintenance of computers and their accessories.
- Training students with specializations and developing their skills and experience.
Organizational structure of the center
To organize work mechanisms, the center’s work is divided into five divisions as illustrated below:

Administrative Division:It contains the center director’s office and its role is clear in coordinating all the work of the center’s people, in addition to following up on the affairs of the center’s teachers and employees, in addition to service and administrative work, as well as following up on the center’s electronic incoming and outgoing mail.

Systems and Software Division:The tasks of this division are focused on analyzing and studying the programs and systems needed by the university’s colleges and departments, and then programming or writing them in modern programming languages. The main goal of this division is to automate administrative, financial, and academic work in the university’s departments, in addition to providing external services such as designing websites and systems.

Training Division:This division prepares and implements the training program that includes the center’s establishment of computer proficiency courses and other specializations that require programming or electronic intervention, as well as a large number of courses in the field of teaching programming languages and various computer applications, both specialized and general, at different levels, advanced and elementary, and preparing a periodic guide that includes the topics of these. Courses and their holding times and distributed to all university departments and state institutions. This guide is prepared according to the needs of the institutions and the requests of the beneficiaries.

Maintenance and Networks Division:This division provides Internet services to all university members for scientific research. The Internet network is managed and monitored within the center, in addition to providing training services to the teaching staff and workers in the field of computers and other specializations to mobilize them with skills in how to manage and use Internet applications. The Division also currently maintains all computers and electronic devices.

Website Division:This division mainly focuses on designing and programming the university’s electronic website and providing it with information systems. All updates related to all university and presidency formations are introduced by this division. It also creates a private e-mail for the university’s teaching staff.
